2025 SIA REFRESHER Training for LEVEL 2 DOOR SUPERVISION  COURSE what’s in the Course?

The Security Industry Authority (SIA) has recently updated the qualifications required for the SIA license. In response, SJA Training Services has launched a comprehensive Refresher Training program for door supervisors and security guards. This initiative is part of a broader effort to align with the latest updates following a thorough review of license-linked qualifications.

Launching January 2025: Starting January 2025, all door supervisors and security guards will be required to complete this Refresher Training before renewing their licenses. The updated training is designed to ensure that current license holders possess the same foundational skills and knowledge as new entrants, enhancing their capabilities to operate effectively within the private security industry.

Key Enhancements Include:

• Search Procedures: Effective techniques for conducting searches.
• Vulnerable Person Protection: Strategies for keeping vulnerable individuals safe.
• Terror Threat Awareness: Understanding the role of security operatives during terror threats.
• Incident Management: Managing public safety concerning incidents of spiking.
• Physical Interventions: Understanding the implications and proper use of physical interventions in security settings.

Training Format Options:

• Fully Face-to-Face: 21 hours over 2.5 days.
• Blended Learning with ACT Awareness & Security: 19 hours and 20 minutes over 2 days.
• Blended Learning with ACT Awareness, Security & QNUK Workbook: 11 hours and 15 minutes over 1.5 days.

Mandatory First Aid Component: It is a requirement of the SIA that training centres confirm that each learner is qualified in First Aid or Emergency First Aid. Training must include assessment in Catastrophic Bleeding management. Up to 1st April 2025, any regulated Emergency First Aid at Work qualification will be accepted if it includes this component. Post this date, only specific qualifications meeting the Manchester Arena inquiry recommendations will be accepted.

Certification: Upon completion, participants will receive the QNUK Level 2 Award for Door Supervisors in the Private Security Industry (Refresher) (RQF). This qualification ensures that all door supervisors are up to date with the latest standards and practices in the industry.
